To celebrate my 65th Birthday on 21st February 2008, my Wife, Wendy arranged for a special treat in the form of Routemaster RML 2317 hired from Metrobus for a trip from Caterham - on - the - Hill and Warlingham to Sevenoaks and back. 53 friends enjoyed the experience of riding on a proper bus. Paul was our Driver and Steve was our Conductor. A great day, full of nostalgia and memories. My thanks to My Wife, Wendy for organising everything, and thanks to all those for their cards and gifts. Thanks also to Paul and Steve our Driver and Conductor for the safe journey. As the song says "The wheels on the Bus go round and round", all the way to Sevenoaks and back !!

This collection of photos includes views of Preserved Buses that are related to Chelsham Garage or Routes that were operated in the Chelsham, Warlingham and Caterham district.
The first selection shows on the Carshalton Running Day on 15th April 2007 and the next 4 photos show Metrobus RML 2317 at Caterham Clifton Arms on the occasion of the East Grinstead Country Bus Rally on 22nd April 2007. Wednesday 19th April 2006 was the first day of operation of Route 657 by Southdown PSV from Warlingham to Whyteleafe, Caterham Valley, Chaldon, Merstham and Reigate College. On Saturday 22nd April 2006, Southdown PSV Ltd also took over Routes 409 (East Grinstead to Croydon) and 411 (Redhill to Chelsham Common and Tatsfield) previously operated by Metrobus. Routes 409 and 411 continued to run until 1st June 2007. Metrobus took over these routes again from 2nd June 2007. This album of photos shows the variety of Buses that have been noted on these routes, including buses running on the first journeys and those running during the last week and finally on the last day. There are also some views of the 4 buses that Southdown PSV loaned to Arriva at Tunbridge Wells in June 2007.

On Easter Saturday 15th April 2006, Metrobus Routemaster RML 2317 ran on Route 409 between East Grinstead - Lingfield - Godstone - Caterham - Warlingham - Chelsham - Farleigh - Selsdon and Croydon. Special thanks go to Metrobus for the pure nostalgia that this special arrangement gave to many people.

Then Southdown PSV ran the route for just over 13 months until Metrobus gained the route again from 2nd June 2007.

Photographs showing the variety of Buses seen working Metrobus Route 411 Redhill, Nutfiield, Bletchingley, Godstone, Caterham, Whyteleafe, Warlingham, Farleigh, Chelsham, Tatsfield and Oxted that ran from 21st April 2001 for 5 years until 21st April 2006. Then Southdown PSV ran the route in a shortened form, omitting the Tatsfield - Oxted section for just over 13 months until Metrobus gained the route again from 2nd June 2007. The route currently runs between Redhill, Nutfiield, Bletchingley, Godstone, Caterham, Whyteleafe, Warlingham, Farleigh, Chelsham with occasional trips from and to Tatsfield.
